Torhaus Wehlen Gallery.
Artist Residency
Torhaus Wehlen – is a former administrative rural baroque building built in 1747. Dirk Großer, artist and the present owner, has converted it as a gallery with an artist residency facilities. The unique, individual character of the gatehouse combines historical elements with contemporary cultural requirements. It offers studio spaces and an experimental working atmosphere to discover new formats of process-oriented
researches, and carry out cross-genre projects.
Since 2019, in collaboration with the
OUTSIDEININSIDEOUTINSIDEOUT-
OUTSIDEIN collective we have co-curated
Laboratory format as well as an 2-4 weeks international artist residency
programme. Through the annually meeting and open call, this growing community
of artists & researchers explore forms of collectivity with each others, and
celebrate the coexistence with the nature & other beings.
